“The best charity is to satisfy a hungry person.”

The M100 Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of its 2012 monthly grant program with DC Central Kitchen.
In addition to this grant, M100 & Miss Sinergy partnered to sponsor a clothing and food drive on December 21st 2011 in Falls Church. Together we collected new winter clothes and non-perishable food items. All items collected were donated to DC Central Kitchen.
About DC Central Kitchen: DC Central Kitchen turns leftover food into millions of meals for thousands of at-risk individuals while offering nationally recognized culinary job training to adults overcoming homelessness, addiction, and incarceration. DC Kitchen uses food as a tool to strengthen bodies, empower minds, and build communities.
DC Central Kitchen recycles 3,000 pounds of food, converting it into 4,500 meals distributed to 100 shelters, transitional homes, and rehabilitation clinics throughout the DC area – each day! These partner agencies then refer clients to DC Central Kitchen’s Culinary Job Training Program, where people in need receive the tools to start new careers. Graduates are employed in the agency’s own full-service catering company or by placing them in full-time jobs at restaurants and hotels throughout the region.
M100 Foundation is proud to award its January grant to support DC Central Kitchen’s efforts to include healthy local produce in the 4,500 meals it distributes each day to low-income individuals and families throughout the Washington, DC area.
